Madleen

work in progress video inspired by a photograph by Madja Fathi of sand art by Yazid Jabu Arad and young people in Gaza, unfortunately my computer broke down exactly in the moment, when I was adding Majda’s and Yazid’s name to the film, after asking for permission to share the photograph in this way

It has taken me a long time to begin to find my voice in the midst of the unfolding horrors in Gaza. I was numb, like so many of us, felt shocked, in disbelief, heart-broken and my body brought up all the war trauma from past generations. I looked into the different self-protective patterns, the programmed reactions: There is a pattern that wants to die for the Truth no matter what, there is a pattern that wants to desparately change everything for the better, there is a pattern that is simply petrified to speak out, there is a pattern that rather lies low and just hopes to be invisible enough to survive without being persecuted, and of course there is also an understanding of how being pushed into a corner, of being exploited, threatened and deprived of all rights for safety, dignity and belonging naturally tends to lead to belief that ‘the bad other’ must be eliminated, and that in fact suddenly killing turns into a virtue. I strongly sense in the heart that there is a way beyond the cycle of violence and bloodshed and murder. Because how can you claim to be better than someone who murders if you murder yourself. So the rather forcefully imposed battle for a completely illusionary moral high-ground must be replaced by a real and honest enquiry and willingness to learn new restorative ways to coinhabit planet earth.

So the question I asked myself is what can I do right now to support humanity as a whole to move beyond the endless justifications for war, (whilst I am aware that the people of the world are not given the true reasons). The vision that arose was that there must be something else, something humanity hasn’t tried yet. Because all these different patterns I mentioned, many people enacted all these different roles throughout history, but they haven’t changed that this utter madness is still going on.

Obviously there is a voice for the Light of humanity in oneness which will bring real change once it is broadly accepted, but the darkness of humanity in apparent separation really needs a voice in oneness, too, as there is oneness in all this excruciating and unbearable pain, that humanity ultimately inflicts on itself. I feel it in everyone, even in those of us humans who are not feeling it yet. There is the utter unbearability of what is being done to fellow human beings, without any understanding of the enormous long-term negative consequences for all of humanity in this endlessly cruel, human behaviour. It is deeply concerning, there are so many people who don’t seem to be feeling the horror of what they have done and what they are doing, they don’t have a conscience switch, an innate guide that says ‘this is wrong’ before it is too late. So my practice is now to feel it for them.

This is not empathy for the abuser, this is collective energy short-circuited for the benefit of all. Yes it is tough to come to terms with what damage others have done to you, incredibly tough, but it is the worst type of pain when you cause suffering. When the justification doesn’t stick anymore that they don’t feel like us, and that they are not worthy of decent treatment like us, then the pain will come, it will be a pain that can become medicine to restore humanity.

This era in human history doesn’t seem to be the time for healing war traumas, how can we, when there is retraumatisation everyday through the horrors of what we seem to be coerced into accepting as normal. This is the time to bring all our ancestral war traumas to the surface and embrace them, embrace the unbearable and give the unbearable a voice, a voice that goes deeper than blame, shame, accusation, attack and condemnation. This is the time to remind us that we are feeling beings, deeply feeling, vulnerable beings. and that there is no value higher than global peace and harmony. This potential lives in the mysterious divine architecture that is a human being.

It is totally possible to speak with everyone directly through the heart, and to ask them why they are hanging on to the structures of dominance at all cost. There is much greater power in energy sent than we imagine. Communications from the heart transmit instantly and beyond space-time. Not everyone needs to say it out loud, just create an endlessly powerful transmission of Love to especially those who are creating the most destruction, they need it the most. I don’t mean a romanticizing kind of Love, I mean that pure all-consuming Love that is infinitely strong an that has the power to really transform humanity at a cellular level.

When my computer broke, my standard patterns of how I engage online also broke down. Right now I am relying on means of creative expression that do not have professional editing software at hand. So I welcome the disruption. I have to become simpler, more open and raw, and I can’t hide behind my editing skills. It felt so nourishing and heart-breaking simultaneously to add the names of Madja Fathi and Yazid Abu Arad to this video. We are all human. I refuse any ideas of a superior race or cultural and relgious group. Why, because just the belief in that idea proves that someone is not willing to really look into what about one’s own culture is truly good for human beings and what isn’t. We need honest, curious, detailed and creative enquiries.

Now I am envisioning… a future where violent and murderous warfare against any particular group of people is fully seen for what it is and hence avoided at all cost, where true harmony and global safety to live in peace and truly thrive is the highest currency, because we know this is the best for everyone. I am envisioning a future where breaking the cycle of violence is of higher value than keeping it going, based in the understanding of oneness this is absolutely possible.
